Michelle Drew, LPC
Hello, welcome to Positive Mind Counseling! My name is Michelle Drew and I have a passion for helping those in need. I am a licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 14 years of experience working with youth and families in community and school settings. I believe in a relational cultural approach with a humanistic spin when approaching a therapeutic relationship and value the different perspectives that are brought into the therapy room.
I have a Master’s Degree in Child Development, with a concentration in Special Education from Southern New Hampshire University as well as two Certified Advanced Graduate Study certifications from Fitchburg State University in Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. I have specialized in trauma, with certifications in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Attachment Regulation and Competency treatment models.
Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, parenting concerns, the effects of trauma, or are feeling overwhelmed by life stress, I believe you are doing the best you can with the resources you have available to you. My goal is to help you build on those resources, as well as discover within yourself the solutions that will enable you to take the steps toward improving your life.
I utilize a blend of solution focused, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness based approaches which improve self-awareness, and teach skill building around creative problem solving, emotional regulation, stress management, and interpersonal relationships.
I support clients seeking individual or family therapy with concerns related to depression, anxiety, trauma, self harm, difficulty managing emotions, and relationship issues.
